Recently, a number of COVID-19 cases were recorded in Shijiazhuang, Xingtai and Cangzhou in Hebei Province, where work and schools were suspended with supermarkets closed and communities in lockdown…work and life looked as if being paused. Facing the severe situation of pandemic prevention and control, China Continent Insurance under China Re Group has spared no effort in pandemic prevention and control as well as insurance services, striving to play an important role in combating the pandemic and serving livelihood of the people.

　　No one can be spared from the battle against the pandemic. At the critical moment of our national battle against the pandemic, the party members of the Hebei branch of China Continent Insurance took the lead to put on their red vests and red armbands to team up with community volunteer services, and together with the medical staff, to fight against the pandemic in the forefront without hesitation.

　　In Shijiazhuang, in response to the needs of volunteer recruitment in various communities, the Hebei branch of China Continent Insurance swiftly made deployment and implemented its plan. Against all odds, four party members and cadres, namely Wang Feng, Su Yanke, Bian Shefang and Gu Weiyuan, took the initiative to participate in the volunteer services and assisted in the testing work in their respective communities, while maintaining order and facilitating the elderly who found themselves difficult to move around in completing the test.

　　“I just want to try my best to do something for my own community. I think everyone is in order and the residents of the community are cooperative,” Bian Shefang said.

　　“It is a bit cold, but the medical staff are having an even harder time. With the efforts of our volunteers, hopefully the nucleic acid test of the community can be completed earlier,” Gu Weiyuan told.

　　In Gaocheng District, the party members and cadres of China Continent Insurance took the lead to participate in the volunteer work. After the confirmed case of COVID-19 in Gaocheng District on 2 January, they assisted the villages and towns in carrying out various convenience services for the people, such as positive publicity, psychological counselling, environmental disinfection, checkpoint duty and transportation of materials in relation to the pandemic. Besides, the volunteers led the nucleic acid test personnel to conduct testing home-by-home, registered the whereabouts information and body temperature of residents. The information collected during the day was then recorded electronically the same night. The work of volunteers could be constantly intensive, and some even slept less than 4 hours a day.

　　In Xingtai and Luancheng, China Continent Insurance responded swiftly to the call of the local government. Fellow comrades Wang Jiangtao, Wen Tianbo, Sun Yonghui, Li Ting, Cheng Xiaofei and An Xiaodong actively participated in the local volunteer service work and contributed to their hometowns. They said that the fight against the pandemic was not only a battle for front-line medical staff and volunteers, but also an important moment for an insurer to shoulder heavy responsibilities.

　　In Cangzhou, party members and people of the local branch of China Continent Insurance visited the front-line community to express their care by assisting the prevention and control duty volunteers of the community to check body temperature and register and donating rice, oil and other daily necessities, with the aim to contribute to the fight against the pandemic. In the meantime, China Continent Insurance donated daily necessities including noodles, water and pandemic prevention materials such as masks to the grassroots pandemic prevention workers of Dongcheji Village, Dingning Town, Dingzhou City. Every act of support, every item given out, every shout to maintain order…the people of China Continent Insurance in Hebei have interpreted the extraordinary meaning of the red armbands and red vests of “voluntary services”.

　　China Continent Insurance has launched the “China Continent super app” for our customers in order to enable cloud processing of businesses. Customers can simply login to the “China Continent super app” for policy enquiries, changes and claims, one-click renewal of car insurance, and purchase of various insurance products such as health insurance and accident insurance. Moreover, customers can now check the violation information of their vehicles online free of charge, access to the violation reminder service, make online appointments as well as arrange annual inspection at home. Customers can also access to the “China Continent claims settlement” by means of WeChat Mini Program, APP, H5, etc., and complete online claims settlement with claims settlement back office via high-definition audio and video connection.

　　It was the 19th to 27th days since winter solstice recently, during which the weather is cold. Coupled with the pandemic, the response time of rescuing service providers after vehicle accidents of customers has been increased. In order to reduce waiting time for customers, China Continent Insurance would deploy our survey staff for rescue immediately after an accident is reported. In particular, our survey staff would handle at once the light forms of rescue applied by customers, such as electricity and water delivery. As for other heavy forms of rescue services, if the service provider is unable to handle in a timely manner, customers may approach another rescue company by themselves and we will make reimbursement afterwards.
